OK, SO\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

You probably know that my side hustle is as a wedding officiant. Last week, I found myself in a rather heated discussion with a bride-to-be who was insisting that she wanted the pronouncement portion of her wedding to come after<\/em> signing the marriage register.<\/p>\n

I explained that, in order for her marriage to be legal, certain things have to happen in a specific order. Her response?<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wedding, my choice.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wellllll\u2026 yes. Except when the Province of Ontario says otherwise.<\/p>\n

This was my first encounter with someone who hadn’t quite reached full Bridezilla status, but we were definitely circling the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

It took a good 30 minutes, actual diagrams and forwarded legislation before she finally accepted the reality that, in this particular instance, \u201cmy wedding, my choice\u201d was being overruled by the Marriage Act.<\/p>\n

Romance is alive and well, people.<\/p>\n

And I thought selling houses was stressful. Geez!<\/p>\n

WHILE I HAVE YOU\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s keep it real: houses are moving like molasses uphill in the dead of winter.<\/p>\n

Part of it has to do with overpricing. Overpricing your home means missing out on that exciting first week when buyers are most eager to look. Instead of drawing in serious offers, a sky-high price tag can actually help your neighbours sell their homes by making theirs look like an absolute steal.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, your beautiful house just sits there collecting digital dust, leaving buyers to wonder what\u2019s wrong with it when the only real hiccup is the price.<\/p>\n

CURRENTLY WATCHING\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m going through a huge Suits<\/em> phase. Second time watching the series. I ran through it about five years ago, which is juuuust enough time to have forgotten a bunch!<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t seen it, think of Suits<\/em> as a high-stakes fashion show masquerading as a legal drama, where everyone looks like a supermodel and speaks entirely in movie quotes and threats.<\/p>\n
